About Us

Our Brief History

Andrea and Bryan met in September of 2006.

After realizing that they sounded good together as a duo, Bryan booked them a show at Smith Valley United Methodist Church . A name was now needed.

Bryan and Andrea admit to making some VERY bad choices—to the point of destroying much of their previous lives. Thankfully God had intervened for both of them! They wanted others to feel the same grace and mercy He had provided for them.

Both had denied His love over time. There had been times that they both thought themselves “too bad” for Him to love. Walls had been high...the mortar STRONG. Andrea stated that they wanted to break down others walls to resistance too. EPIPHANY! A name was born.

A few months after their first performance, Bryan and Andrea felt led to add some instruments and possibly more vocals. Coy Hutcherson was a Christian, bass singer in the chorus Bryan was directing, and bass player. Bryan asked if he would join them for a show. During their first rehearsal, Coy opened his mouth and sang notes that completely blended with the already existing duo. Bryan said that Coy could sing bass and they would get an alto. That didn't happen--and if you want to know more about that, you can listen to Coy rant about it on our A Cappella Live CD

Today Joshua’s Vision includes Coy Hutcherson, but no alto--Coy sings alto AND bass. God sent Him to JV as strongly as He sent Bryan and Andrea to one another. His addition as the word smith of the group has prompted the writing of many songs on behalf of Jesus Christ.

Today Joshua's Vision is blessed to be singing for larger audiences than ever enabling them to spread God's message to a greater number of people. They have appeared with some of the biggest names in gospel music. As His servants, they will continue to do what He calls them to do.Thank you Jesus for the blessings in our lives.

Joshua's Vision is based in Alexandria, Indiana.

Andrea Hughes
Andrea is a professional pianist and organist. Her specialty is in the area of sight reading keyboard music. It's like a game to her, and God has blessed her with the ability to read nearly any selection dropped in front of her. She is still actively performing and accompanying in the Central Indiana area, particularly at Anderson University and at Ball State University. Andrea loves to help budding young keyboard players to learn the art of sight reading as she has.

Andrea enjoys being a free-lance musician and gospel performer. She finds it a bit odd that her work with Joshua's Vision has caused many know her as a singer and not as a keyboardist. This doesn't diminish her extreme love of pure vocal harmonies. When Andrea is not performing, she is often serving as "taxi-driver" for the kids.

After earning a bachelors degree in Vocal-General Music Education from Michigan State University, Andrea was called to ministry. This resulted in a Master of Arts in Church Music degree from Christian Theological Seminary. She served as a church organist for eight years before moving into full time music ministry with Joshua's Vision. She spent four years as an assistant choral director and accompanist at Lawrence Central High School and also taught at Nativity Catholic School as an elementary music teacher.

Andrea would like to thank her parents for a firm musical and spiritual background. She would also like to thank Ms. Datz and Doc Ingram, her high school choir directors, for encouraging her to pursue music as a career. She would like to thank God Almighty for the mercy, grace and forgiveness and the many, many blessings.

Bryan Hughes
Bryan keeps busy in several areas of music--particularly in the world of gospel. As a midwest area vocalist, performance coach, choral director & concert promoter, Bryan has been a semi-professional musician from the age of 3 years old. His musical background is heavily steeped in barbershop music. He was the lead in Keep ‘Em Guessin’, the 2003 Cardinal District Champion. He also was in New S’Hughes with his brothers and dad, Wabash Avenue , 1998 Cardinal District Champs, and Rhythmix from Ohio. He still participates in the exciting Indiana Harmony Brigade. With this organization, over 100 of the best barbershop singers in the midwest come together after learning music on their own and compete and sing for a weekend in October.

Bryan earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Indiana State University in 1997. After teaching choral music for 9 years, Bryan is now a full-time musician.

His family is an area that he now embraces COMPLETELY. Bryan loves being the spiritual leader of the household—a role that he has finally dedicated to since Christ entered his life just a few years ago. He also loves racing—especially some of the great local tracks in Indiana and the Midwest.

Bryan would like to thank God first and foremost for saving his life through grace and for the opportunity to now serve Him. He would also like to thank his parents and Grandma Hughes (who went to be with God a few years ago) for passing music down to enjoy as a life long endeavor. Finally, but not at all least, he wants to thank his foundation on this earth…his beloved wife Andrea. He says, "God has brought us together in His timing. For that I praise Him every day." Bryan and Andrea have 4 children between them. Bryan is thankful for a God of grace who has allowed them to continue to serve even with the challenges of a blended family.

Coy Hutcherson

Coy is a recent resident of Greenfield, IN. He still makes the commute to Indy working as a Motor Coach mechanic at Miller Transportation. Coy is an ordained minister and has served in the gospel ministry since 2001. He has led street ministries, church bus ministries, held various church offices, and continues to perform marriages and funerals in the Indianapolis area.

When Coy isn't on the road he loves to settle back at his church in Indianapolis, The Lighthouse Community Church. When called upon he still loves to preach the occasional sermon or sing the Sunday special music. Coy draws from an eclectic musical background, but admits to being a self proclaimed "harmony junkie." He draws a lot of his musical influence from the old southern gospel and barbershop quartets he grew up listening to.

Coy is married to his wife of 6 years, Amber. He had the blessing of becoming a father to his daughter Mia-Michelle last year. He and Amber expect their next child in March 2010! Coy is still amazed and humbled that he first dated his wife at 14 years old, & God has chosen to keep them as a strong family unit. Coy feels unworthy of having a wife and family that keep him grounded. Coy's overriding passion in music is writing lyrics. He has a desire to convey the message of God's word in a way that inspires others to seek and find the Love of God and be touched by what God has to say to His people and creation.

Coy thanks the Lord Jesus Christ for the many gifts in his life. He also thanks his parents and sister Rachel for teaching him not to judge people because they're different but to look for the good in everyone. Finally, he’d like to thank Amber for being his wife and supporting God's call to Joshua's Vision and the amount of time it takes to make the music worthy.
